ANDERSON, John Henry (1814 – 74). Grand Free Trade Demonstration. Hull: J. Howe, Printer and Bookbinder, [1846]. Letterpress broadside for Anderson’s appearance before the “free trade patriots” of Hull, presenting his “wonders, which have no parallel in the world” and will “make a grand free trade pudding,” in celebration of the Free Trade Festival. Dawes collection label to verso. 17 ¼ x 10 ½”. Contemporary inked notation in upper right, one corner torn away, else very good. Dr. Dawes’ notes (included) state that this was a “one-off show by JHA” and that the bill is believed to be unique.
