Large advertisement in the form of a newspaper with every article heralding Goldin’s many accomplishments and capabilities, depicting scenes from the magician’s show, and promoting the sale of magic books and tricks. Overprinted in red at top of first page with the venue and date of Goldin’s final performance: “Empire Theatre / High Road, Wood Green / Week Commencing Monday, August 21st, 1939.” The renowned stage illusionist passed away in his sleep that night, having successfully performed the bullet catch trick at the very same venue where Chung Ling Soo perished in his own attempt at the effect twenty-one years earlier.
