Dawes at the Society of American Magicians Convention in 1999. Pictorial brass plaque with photographic portrait of Christopher and custom engraved text, mounted to wood base. 15 x 10”; — “Order of the Golden Thumb Tip” award presented to Dr. Edwin A. Dawes by William E. Spooner in June 2008 “For outstanding contributions and achievements in the magical arts.” With accompanying documentation including a history of the award, its fabrication, and a certificate SIGNED by Spooner (with Dawes being the eighth inductee, nicknamed “Professor Tipper”). Gold-plated metal thumb tip handsomely displayed on a velvet stand, under a glass cloche, with custom engraved brass plaque on circular North Carolina walnut base (hallmarked “WES” and numbered “8” underneath). Height 4 ¾”, base diameter 3 ¾”; — “Stanley M. Collins Memorial Award” presented to Dr. Edwin A. Dawes in 1971 by F. William Kuethe, Jr. in association with The Magic Cauldron, a periodical for magic collectors published in Maryland. Custom engraved brass plaque below a bas-relief pictorial medallion of a hand writing with a quill on the page of a book surrounded by a decorative wreath, mounted to a shield-shaped wood base. 10 x 7 ½”. All in excellent condition with very minor wear.
