The Five Sullivan Brothers Missing in Action. 1943. Office of War Information Poster No. 42. WWII recruiting poster honoring the Waterloo, Iowa born Sullivan brothers, Joseph Eugene, Francis Henry, Albert Leo, Madison Abel, and George Thomas, who served together on the U.S.S. Juneau. The ship was torpedoed during the naval battle at Guadalcanal and all five were tragically lost. This event led to a change in U.S. Navy policy regarding brothers serving together at sea. 28 x 22”.
