Siringo worked for the Pinkerton Detective agency, but when he published his memoirs, the company took him to court, due to privacy concerns - Siringo eventually changed the name to the “Dickerson” agency. “...chronicles Siringo’s twenty-two years as an undercover operative in the wilder parts of the West, where he rode with the lawless using stratagems and guises to bring them to justice and often escaping violent death”.
