[BOTANICAL LEAVES]. Group of 12 Hand-Colored German Botanical Leaves Plus 2 Uncolored Botanical Leaves. [Germany, ca. 1600s-1700s]. 4to leaves with hand-colored woodcuts of plants, several with hand-colored woodcuts on both sides. Approximately 13 ¾ x 8 ½” to 11 ¾ x 7 ¼”. 10 leaves are mounted with printed captions. Leaves toned, soiled, with some marginal chipping or creasing, some margins a bit uneven from where these leaves were excised from books. All are housed in a modern gray cloth portfolio. Generally very good. Some of the sources are: Gart der Gesuntheit (3 leaves, 1485), Ortus Sanitatis (1 leaf, 1500), Herbolario Volgare (1 leaf, 1522), De Historia Stirpium (1 leaf, 1542), various editions of Kreutterbuch (7 leaves, 1550-1590) and more.
