[BREWERIANA]. Pair of Manuscript Ledgers or Notebooks for Brewers including: “Ad Majorem Dei-mariague Gloriam handboed van uilgeleverde [?] Bieren aene de berbelgiers begonnen met 1er January 1827”. [N.p., 1827-1854] 4to. 121 leaves with manuscript, most with manuscript on recto and verso (several blank leaves interspersed with text, not counted as above). Approximately 12 ½ x 8”. Later patterned paper backstrip over original plain boards, manuscript label on front board, silk ties (binding heavily worn, soiled, spine perished, numerous ink notations on binding, some thumbsoiling throughout, several gutters cracked). Good. A nice working ledger in Dutch and English (some months and some other works appear to be in English). And: “L’Ouiolité [?] libre en Brasserie…” [France, ca. 1920s]. 8vo. 55 leaves on ruled paper, most leaves with text on recto and verso. The name “Van Laer” appears in several places. Also notes on the fermentation and stabilization of beer. Approximately 7 ½ x 5”. Bound in plain brown cloth boards with 2 rings. Some soiling, mild wear. Very good. Neatly written script with a few newspaper clippings related to fermentation.
