Fine. FIRST EDITION OF THIS RARE CIVIL WAR HISTORY OF THE 15TH TEXAS CAVALRY BY THE LIEUTENANT OF THAT COMPANY. Collins was the Lieutenant of Company B’s 15th Texas Cavalry, Cleburne’s Division of the Army of Tennessee. He was captured in January, 1863, but was exchanged for a prisoner swap five months later. For the rest of the war, Collins and the 15th Cavalry fought against Union advances in the West, including Chickamauga, Chattanooga, Kennesaw Mountain, Nashville, and Bentonville. “This narrative is well-written, in excellent temper, often bordering on the humorous, and carefully conforming to established facts.” (Coulter).
