FIRST EDITION IN ORIGINAL MONTHLY PARTS, nearly complete with all text pages, preliminary leaves, plates and with nearly every advertisement according to Hatton and Cleaver except for the following: part I lacks 2 pp. W. Mott ad, 4 pp. Norton’s ad, but has 4 pp. Waterlow & Sons ad; part III lacks Household Words slip, p. 1 of the Tallis ad (p. 1 is blank, p. 2 is present), lacks rear Crochet Cotton slip; part IV Household Words slip is 2nd issue, lacks Marsland slip; part V lacks Crochet Cotton slip; part VI lacks Crochet Cotton slip; part VII lacks Marsland slip; part VIII lacks Crochet Cotton slip; part IX Household Words slip is chipped; part X lacks Crochet Cotton slip; part XI “New Sporting Newspaper” slip has newspaper clipping affixed to front - the following ads called-for in this part are inserted in part XII: Waterlow & Sons (2 pp.), W.
