Fair. INSCRIBED PRESENTATION COPY FROM DISRAELI IN VOLUME I TO SIR JOHN HOBHOUSE BART, 1ST BARON BROUGHTON, MEMBER OF SEVERAL CABINETS AND ADMINISTRATIONS. With Hobhouse’s amoral bookplates to the free pastedowns, and an ink note in Hobhouse’s hand at the bottom of p. 340 in volume II. Hobhouse was a close friend of Lord Byron (1788-1824) and traveled with Byron extensively, and was the superintendent of Byron’s funeral arrangements. Isaac Disraeli was the father of Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881) and was a writer and scholar.
