[vi], [1]-118, [4, blank] pp. Publisher’s full black cloth, spine lettered in gilt, publisher’s unclipped (“$1.75”) dust jacket (light rubbing to binding; jacket chipped and worn at spine, a few tape repairs to verso, some edgewear, soiling, creasing, shallow chipping and a few marginal tears to jacket, ball point pen mark on rear jacket panel). A near fine copy in a fair jacket. FIRST AMERICAN EDITION. Gift inscription from Episcopal priest and author/editor Carroll E. Simcox to Revilo Pendleton Oliver and his wife, Grace, on the ffep. Oliver’s copy with his bookplate on the fp as well as Oliver’s reference number stamped in ink on the front of the jacket and the jacket front flap. Simcox wrote numerous titles on religion; Oliver was one of the founders of the right-wing John Birch Society and was virulently anti-semetic.
