Fair. FIRST EDITION OF THIS RARE ACCOUNT OF THE FREEING OF AMERICAN HOSTAGES FROM BARBARY PIRATES. Ownership signature of John Allbright on title-page and the following 2 pages. In 1795 American diplomat Joseph Donaldson negotiated for the freedom of American sailors who were captured by pirates. Donaldson successfully negotiated with a payment of around $700,000, and the captives were freed. Sabin 91534.
