Bound in publisher’s full green levant morocco, boards decoratively triple-ruled in gilt, front board lettered in gilt, rear board decorated with central gilt, spine ruled in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, gilt turn-ins, all edges gilt, yellow coated endleaves (spine toned with some edgewear, some edgewear to boards, corners a bit bumped, hinges starting, some occasional light foxing to lithographs and text pages). FIRST EDITION, ONE OF ONLY TEN PROOF COPIES, THIS BEING COPY NO. 1. “This album is composed of Proof Copies printed by hand, before letters, of the cartoons which appeared in VANITY FAIR during the year 1886.
