WOOLF, Bill (American, b. 1927). Untitled / Self-Portrait Machine. 1981. Mixed media interactive sculpture, ceramic, wood, photographs, lights, glass, mechanical switches, and motors. On a wooden pedestal. Signed and dated. Oversized self-portrait bust with multiple peep-holes looking into the head of the artist. A variety of switches and buttons are present, triggering different effects when flipped. Lights inside of the sculpture illuminate scrolling text, images, and scenes to be viewed through the peepholes. Head height 24”; overall 56”. Pedestal 32 x 14 x 14”. Tested, partially working. Requires adjustment and/or new lightbulbs. Third-party shipping is required.
