Publisher’s full cloth bindings, front boards and spines stamped in gilt, spines stamped in blind, all in publisher’s slipcases (spines slightly dull, some soiling, occasional creasing to a few pages, rubbing to slipcases). Generally near fine or better. SIGNED, LIMITED FIRST EDITIONS. Titles include: Lovey Childs A Philadelphian’s Story (price sticker on slipcase), The Lockwood Concern And Other Stories, The Instrument, Waiting for Winter. O’Hara is one of the most prolific American short story writers of the 20th century, although he also wrote novels. His work was admired by his contemporaries, including Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Several of his books were adapted into films, including BUtterfield 8, Pal Joey, From the Terrace, Ten North Frederick, and more. Many credit O’Hara’s writings as a main inspiration for the successful AMC series, Mad Men.
