Good. FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY ROOSEVELT TO PHILANTHROPIST AND SPORTSMAN ALEXANDER SMITH COCHRAN ON THE FFEP: “To Lt. [pencil mark on “Lt.”] Commander A. S. Cochrane, who has made good, from his friend the slacker malgré lui [“in spite of himself”] Theodore Roosevelt Sept 20th 1917”. An excellent association copy of this book that encouraged the United States’ entry into World War I, and predicting the rise of the United States to a world power.
