With 16 engraved portrait plates inserted at front. [ii], [30, sample text pages], [40, ruled pages, for subscribers, each with blank purple protective sheet facing rectos]. Ruled pages for subscribers are blank. Publisher’s full brown pebbled cloth, front board stamped and lettered in gilt, floral endleaves, both pastedowns with gilt-stamped spine samples (morocco leather on fp, “turkey” leather on rp.; cloth spine wrinkled (most likely due to the binding process), some rubbing, faint occasional soiling to boards, hinges cracked, some offsetting from spine samples on endleaves, plates foxed, some dampstaining to upper edge of text block, lightly skewed). Still, a fine example of this rare and uncommon item.
