Freud und Scherz [“Joy and Jokes.”] [Fürth: Löwensohn, ca. 1925]. 4to. 10 interior color illustrations on cardboard leaves (4 leaves plus illustrations on interior of boards). Publisher’s pictorial boards (some wear, soiling, upper corner of boards and cardboard leaves creased). A very good example of this rare children’s book. Caspari was one of the most important German children’s book illustrators of the first half of the twentieth century, best known for creating the “Modern Toddler” (or “Caspari”) style of illustration.
