Illustrated in color and red and white throughout. 39 pp. Publisher’s pictorial boards (binding worn, toned, hinges starting, text mildly toned and foxed). Good. FIRST EDITION. Handsome Pre-Raphaelite style illustrations. Hallward was a glassmaker as well as an artist and well-regarded in his day. He was a friend of Oscar Wilde’s, and allegedly gave Wilde the idea for The Picture of Dorian Gray (1890).
