Flowering Rose Bush. Azusa: Owen Magic Supreme, 1990s. A barren green rose bush slowly sprouts and grows real roses in a manner resembling time-lapse photography. The flowers can then be cut from the plant and distributed to audience members. Apparatus manufactured from metal with cloth leaves and imitation flowers. Design based on the P&L patent; first produced in the 1930s. Hallmarked “OWEN.” Some wear to foliage and finish of pot, a few chips and scuffs, but overall good working condition. A mechanical marvel, and one of only a handful crafted in the Owen workshops.
