Archive of 35 original black & white photographs and six color photo contact sheets of graphic and gruesome scenes showing postmortem images of victims who died in fires and suffered severe burns. Some autopsy photographs. Many photos with “Official Photograph / Chicago Fire Department" emblem lower right. Many are stamped verso “Chicago Fire Department" with handwritten notes on location, date, and time of incident. A few are later copies / duplicates. Some include printouts of newspaper clippings identifying events. The six pages of color contact sheets each contain four 4 x 5" images. Most photos are 8 x 10".
