[AUTOMATA & MAGIC]. D'AUGVIGNEY, M. Three British Playbills. Hull: M.C. Peck, 1840s. Three letterpress playbills for the magician's appearance at the Victoria Rooms, Hull, featuring his “automaton on the tight rope" (perhaps an imitation of Robert-Houdin's Antonio Diavolo), marionette show, and “Philosophical Recreations" with “Mysterious and Superb Apparatus." One bill details the magic tricks he will present with fanciful names common at that time. Largest 18 ¼ x 9 ½". Unmounted.
