Ownership signature of Edmund Younger at head of title page, boards a bit bowed, but generally very good condition especially so considering the handmade nature of the work. SIGNED and dated by Jarrett on the title page. Widely regarded as one of the most important and influential works on stage illusions ever published.
John Braun wrote of the author: “Jarrett was a very practical man, something of genius, with all the crotchety ways a genius often has. He believes in his ideas and methods, and looked with contempt upon all who insisted on using clumsy make-shifts, and spurious coinage when the pure gold he offered could be had. Seems to me many clever illusions resulted from his improvements."
