Shock Corridor / A dramatic story of murder in a mental institution and the price paid for the solution! [Glendale, CA:] Allied Artists Production, [ca. 1963]. Unusual (teaser? foreign? preliminary design?) poster for this psychological thriller Approximately 40 x 26 ½". Unbacked. Folded, edge-worn with numerous pin-holes at margins and corners, several short marginal tears, a few short interior tears at creases, some thumbsoiling, numeric ink stamp on verso partially visible on front. B-. Rare (we have been unable to find other examples of this design). Shock Corridor was written, produced and directed by prolific filmmaker Samuel Fuller, and starring Peter Breck and Constance Towers. Although a low budget film, Shock Corridor was a critical success and was added to the National Film Registry at the Library of Congress in 1996 (supposedly, Shutter Island by Martin Scorsese, was influenced by this film).
