KUSTEN, Howie “Pyro" (1960–2022). Howie Pyro's Blacklips Performance Cult Manuscripts. 1992-95. Staple-bound photocopy manuscripts for seven performances by the avant-garde drag theater troupe founded by ANOHNI (formerly Antony & The Johnsons and sometimes credited as Fiona Blue) along with founding members Johanna Constantine and Psychotic Eve. These copies were originally owned by Howie Pyro, a member of the nineteen person troupe and bassist for D Generation. Blacklips addressed the intertwined issues of AIDS and the Anthropocene, giving a new performance every monday night at 1:00 AM at the Pyramid Club. Manuscripts for plays including Blacklips Does Barneys (1992) – The Vampires (1993) – Torture of Frankenstein (1993) – The Funeral of Fiona Blue (1993) – The Shysters (1994) – The Trouble with Black Lips – Kill Me Lovely. 11 x 8 ½" each. Worn and used condition; binding stable with the exception of The Vampires.
