Aqua Sport Equipment Co. / Cotton Eldridge Hand-Made and Painted Sign in the Shape of a Boogie Board. [Kerrville, TX, ca. 1960s-70s]. Large painted wood with metal accents - the front of the sign with painted text as well as a tow-rope with hard rubber handle; the rear of the sign has another rope handle as well as a wooden spine. Numerous screws visible. 60 x 26". Some wear, light soiling, scuffing. A small label for Cotton Eldridge is on the front of the sign above “Aqua Sport Equipment". A fine and unusual sign, expertly made. Cotton Eldridge and his wife, Ava, presented the “Ave-Cot Water Thrill Show" water-ski show at the Louise Hays Park. Despite the small size of the Guadalupe River there, the show was reportedly quite good. Cotton Eldridge held a swim school on the Guadalupe River for 30 years. Unfortunately, Cotton Eldridge drowned at the Guadalupe River in 1971. Customer pick-up or third party shipping required.
