Cigar Store Indian with Baby Cast Iron Painted Figure on Base. Painted (recent repaint) figure of a woman with a baby in a carrier on her back, holding up her right arm (her hand holds a bundle of painted metal cigars). Figure 62" high; figure on base 66 ½" high. Base is 19 ½ x 20" around the bottom. Some rubbing, wear, a large crack on her upraised arm (still seems structurally sound). Very good. This figure was part of a collection of similar figures that were displayed outside one of Wisconsin Dells' most popular souvenir shops, The Uptown Trading Post, and were displayed in front of this store for many years. With 2 press photos of this figure outside of the store (with earlier paint job), circa 1940s-50s. Customer pick-up or third party shipping required.
