Bound in near contemporary half brown calf over marbled boards, spine ruled and lettered in gilt (binding worn, soiled, chipped, sticker residue on boards, joints starting, spine torn near headcap, hinges starting, endleaves offset, text toned, foxed with occasional soiling to plates and text). Good. With the ownership inkstamp of “Captn. Cammilleri R. N." with sea serpent inkstamp (possibly Captain Joseph Cammilleri (1794-1860) who served British naval forces during the Revolutionary War, encountering combat against American forces under John Paul Jones) on fp. FIRST EDITION. Lyon commanded the Hecla during Parry's second attempt to discover the Northwest Passage; this book contains information about the native Eskimos. Arctic Bibliography 10531.
