Meany was a professor at the University of Washington, who wrote a review of this book for the Washington Historical Quarterly, October 1916. Laid-in are the following related items: the aforementioned review, the acknowledgement letter from the Champlain Society (tipped-in), a typed letter signed by editor J. B. Tyrrell to the Historical Society, and the pamphlet “David Thompson, Land Geographer of the Northwest" by William S.
