[SPACE FLIGHT PIONEER]. TSIOLKOVSKY, Konstantin (1857-1935). 2 Original Sketches of a Rocket Engine with His Signed Captions. [Russia, n.d., ca. 1920s-30s]. 1 oblong 8vo page on one thin sheet, recto only. Approximately 6 ½ x 9 ½". Sheet is toned, soiled, edgeworn with marginal chipping, 1 horizontal crease with a tear along the upper portion of crease, some faint creasing. Very good. This is a complex pair of sketches of what is most likely a rocket engine, with signed caption. The first sketch depicts a cutaway of the mechanism, the other demonstrates how a combination of 2 engines would produce thrust. With COA of the International Charitable Foundation for Support of Russian Cosmonauts (COA is in Russian - an English translation is included).
