Advertising postcard for Thurston’s sleep-aid device, featuring a photo of Thurston on the recto next to a lengthy message about the Perfect Breather, address and additional text on the verso. Near fine. Scarce. The card admonishes readers to “Thustonize for Health.” Thurston invested in many schemes over the course of his career, including gold mines, amusement park rides, and the Perfect Breather, a wire clip that spread the nostrils of the wearer wide open to supposedly help with snoring, asthma, and other breathing issues.
