HOUDINI, Harry (Erik Weisz, 1874 – 1926). Inscribed Houdini Bridge Jump Photograph. [Rochester, NY, 1907.] Image shows a crowd gathered on the water's edge in anticipation of Houdini's bridge jump; after being submerged, Houdini would escape the bonds while underwater and swim to the surface. 5 x 7", on heavy photographer's mount. Minor staining and tack impressions (not holes) in perimeter. With a caption TYPED BY HOUDINI in the upper white space, stating: “Rochester N.PY. May 7th 07 / The Weighlock bridge. Houdini made his famous jump from. Police would not allow any one on bridge. Too dangerous. Right side of bridge just before jump." And INSCRIBED in his hand, “Houdini the Keith attraction.
