Reports are around 20-30 pages each. At front is a contemporary manuscript leaf in an unknown hand with list of the contained reports. Original front wrappers bound-in at rear. Bound by Julia Miller in modern quarter brown cloth over marbled boards, printed paper label on spine (manuscript leaf worn, chipped, occasional foxing or markings in text, some wear, ownership markings to front wrappers). Fine. FIRST EDITIONS OF ALL 28 ANNUAL REPORTS FOR THE ATHENAEUM. The Providence Athenaeum is one of the oldest and most respected libraries in Rhode Island, with numerous collections. The building is a Greek Revival building designed by William Strickland – two additions were built later. A rare collection.
