Original red buckram [Currey's binding B, first state]; original unclipped dust jacket (some rubbing, soiling to boards, endleaves foxed; jacket worn, soiled, foxed, with marginal tears, chips). Good. FIRST EDITION, WITH A SIGNED BOOKPLATE BY BRADBURY LAID-IN. There were three bindings according to Currey: Only fifty copies of the “A" binding (red cloth with spine lettered in gold) were issued for the author, and most copies issued came in the “C" binding of red paper boards, although there is no priority established among the three bindings the “B" binding in black-lettered red cloth has two states with priority established. This is Currey's first state of the “B" binding with the publisher's monogram on spine printed upside down. Currey p. 57. From the collection of Christopher Grahame-Smith.
