Anderson Nov/70". IN ADDITION, AN ADDITIONAL DEDICATION LEAF SIGNED BY HANNAFORD HAS BEEN TIPPED-IN TO THE EXISTING DEDICATION LEAF. Signed dedication leaf is soiled, toned. Payne was in command of the 6th Regiment Ohio Volunteer for 3 years, leading them in numerous battles, including the Battle of Chickamauga, Siege of Chattanooga, Battle of Missionary Ridge, and many more. After the war, Payne became a powerful businessman/"Robber Baron", organizing the American Tobacco Company Trust, and was one of the founders of U. S. Steel and was associated with Standard Oil. An excellent association.
