Bound in later half blue morocco over blue boards, spine ruled, tooled, and lettered in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, marbled endleaves (spine and upper boards sunned, p. 185/186 with short tear at bottom, occasional minor soiling in text). Near fine. FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE OF DICKENS' UNFINISHED MYSTERY. And: Oliver Twist; or, The Parish Boy's Progress. London: Chapman and Hall, 1841. 8vos. Illustrated with 21 plates by George Cruikshank. 3 volumes bound in 2. 331, 154 [sic]; 155- [308], 315 pp. This copy bound without Dickens' introduction. Near contemporary full dark brown morocco, boards decoratively ruled in blind, spines ruled in blind and lettered in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, pink coated endleaves (spines sunned, some rubbing to bindings, rear hinge of volume II starting, some foxing to plates).
