Black letters, except for the Kalendar leaves, which are printed in red and black. This copy has the woodcut portrait of Queen Elizabeth I (p. ¶), “Ad Dominum Iesum Christum…, dedication, “Ad Doctum Lectorem, Iannes Foxus," “To the True and Faithfull Congregation of Christs Univerall Church…", “The Utilitie of This Storie," “To All the Professed Friends and Followers of the Popes…," “"Foure Considerations Given Out to Christian Protestants…" and the remaining present text leaves. Approximately 16 ½ x 10 ½". Bound in contemporary full calf over wooden beveled boards, board decoratively paneled in blind, early vellum reinforcement to spine edges and joints, ink manuscript label on spine, later brass cornerpieces and centerpiece on boards, later front endleaves (joints cracked, ffep. loose, missing rfep., some worm damage to rp., text toned, soiled, with occasional short tears, chips, creasing, ink notations). Fair. PRESUMED FIRST EDITION OF THIS EARLY CHURCH HISTORY. An incomplete copy, as is most commonly the case for this title. Sold as-is, not subject to return.
