EDISON, Thomas (1847-1931). Inscribed Photo to Famous Magician, William Hilliar. [New York: Walter Scott Shinn, ca. 1920s]. Black and white portrait of Edison, with photographer's credit at lower right. Inscribed at bottom border: “To our good friend Hilliar Thos. A. Edison." 9 x 7". Upper border neatly trimmed away, some rubbing, soiling, toning, verso soiled. Very good. And: a black and white photo of Edison and Hilliar outdoors at Edison's camp cabin. 10 x 8". Worn, soiled, lower left portion with chips and tears. Good. Hilliar (1876-1936) was a famous English stage magician and magic writer. He ghost-wrote several books on magic and founded the well-regarded magic magazine, The Sphinx. He was a well-known stage magician and was a good friend of Harry Houdini and Howard Thurston.
