Nest of Boxes Prototype. Escondido: John Dahms, 1980s. Handsome handmade set of nesting hardwood boxes with carved handles incorporated into each lid. A borrowed object vanishes, then reappears in the smallest of the nested boxes. Largest box 7 ½ x 8 x 7 ¾". Without keys or locks, and with the interiors unfinished, and lacking hinges on the smallest box, but functional and with the trap in place. Obtained by the consignor, Jack White, from Dahms' shop, and likely used as a model.
