[THURSTON] Four Photographs of Thurston's Buried Alive Stunts. 1920s. Pictured with Thurston is Chundra Bey, the eastern “mystic" whom Thurston would put into a trance. One image shows him going under, a second shows him lying in a coffin, and a third shows Bey stepping out of the coffin. A fourth photograph shows Thurston in front of a crowd and the grave into which Bey's coffin has been lowered. 7 ½ x 9 ½" and slightly smaller. Cecil White collection.
