Black metal gimmick with a hook and pin affixed at one end and a button at the other, which releases coins when depressed. 12” long. Acquired by the consigner from Woodrow Carpenter, who obtained many pieces owned by Downs from David and Pauline Coleman, of Terre Haute, Ind., who had in turn acquired the pieces from Downs’ widow. Bearing a note on the verso: “Rumored to belong to T.N. Downs."
