SETTERINGTON, Arthur. Manuscript “Ideas Book" with Numerous Original Magic Tricks and Set Lists, Including His Award Winning “Cube in a Tube." Circa 1970-76. [95] pp. of ruled paper (red and blue rules). Approximately 10 x 8". Various color inks in Setterington's hand, some entries with his original diagrams. Publisher's brown cloth backstrip over textured burgundy boards, rear board lettered in gilt, with “Ideas Book" sticker added by Setterington on front board (some wear to binding). Fine. Affixed to the fp is an ALS from Setterington (on his stationery) to Eddie Dawes, presenting him with this notebook. Some of the tricks included in this book are “Confrontation" (later changed to “Cube in a Tube" which is written in later pen), “Upon Reflection," “Old Woman who lived in Shoe," “Turnabout," “Elastic Ball," “Rikki Tichi Clock," “House Macabre," “Wallet Ribbon & Dice," “Discs & Lock," “Suitable Aces," “Balloon & Box," “Hypo-Action," “6 Repeat Goldfish," and more.Setterington was a writer and inventor of magic tricks, his two most famous being Crazy Man's Handcuffs (not present in this notebook) and Cube in a Tube for which he won the “Jasper Maskelyne Silver Wand Award for Originality."
