Dr. Karl Henzie (1926-1993) was an accomplished optics scientist, and flew several missions, including Spacelab and the Space Shuttle Challenger (he died while climbing Mt. Everest). The “GT-12” referred to by Aldrin is the Gemini 12 mission (November 11, 1966) in which Aldrin was the pilot while Henzie ran ultraviolet stellar spectra experiments for that mission. An excellent association from one legendary astronaut to another.
