FIRST EDITION OF ARKHAM HOUSE’S FIRST PUBLISHED BOOK; LEGENDARY ARTIST HANNES BOK’S (1914-1964) PERSONAL COPY WITH HIS PERSONALLY-DESIGNED BOOKPLATE ON FP AND PENCIL NOTES THROUGHOUT (in his notes on pp. vi and vii, Bok rates Lovecraft’s stories with his written guide to his ratings, and other incisive notes throughout). One of 1,200 copies printed by Arkham House, the first published collection of Lovecraft’s stories. Housed in a modern quarter dark blue morocco clamshell case. A rare modern horror book with an incredible association.
