Tape repairs to verso, two horizontal and one vertical creases, some edgewear, a short marginal tear at bottom. Near fine. “Dear Sir, Yours if the 7th instant at hand, and I hereby comply with your request. Respectfully Yours, etc. Owen Lovejoy”. Lovejoy was a lawyer, minister, Congressman, and an abolitionist. He was a conductor on the Underground Railroad, and was also a close friend of Abraham Lincoln.
