MINIATURE CANNONBALL VASE. Circa 1895. A small cannonball is placed into the nickel-plated vase and the lid is clamped on. When removed, the ball has transformed into a live canary, or a quantity of sweets, which may be distributed to the audience. Height 6 ½”. Wear to finish. First example we have encountered in this size.
