[SCHUSTER, Joe, illustrator]. [BDSM]. Six Issues of “New Illustrated Nights of Horror." [Los Angeles: Festival Publishers Ltd., 1971]. 8vos. Issues illustrated throughout. 6 issues (numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 14) Publisher's staple-bound pictorial wrappers printed in various colors (issue #14 has 4 areas of tape residue on covers, price ink stamp on front wrapper of issues 14 and 3, light general toning, soiling to wrappers). Generally near fine. RARE REPRINTS, ANONYMOUSLY ILLUSTRATED BY JOE SCHUSTER, CO-CREATOR OF “SUPERMAN." This series of illustrated Bondage and Discipline stories were first published in 1954, with anonymous illustrations by Schuster, who was desperate for money, due to his lawsuit against DC Comics over the copyright for Superman. The original publication of this material was made infamous due to the “Brooklyn Thrill Killers" crimes, in which the 1954 Nights of Horror comics were named as one of the reasons the young criminals committed their crimes. The original issues from 1954 are virtually unobtainable today. Some of the characters shown in Schuster's illustrations somewhat resemble Lois Lane and Clark Kent.
