Siegel was a psychopharmacologist and was a research professor with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UCLA. This is one of his few forays into the world of comics. Sheridan was one of the most prominent underground comics creators of the 1970s and early 1980s. He was the creator of Dealer McDope and collaborated with Gilbert Shelton and Paul Mavrides on The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers. “… Dr. McDope in Peru” appeared in The Best of High Times Comix, vol. 4 (1983).
