THE RARE TITLE CARD, POSSIBLY THE ONLY COPY EXTANT. Adapted from Conan Doyle’s 1912 novel of the same name, this silent fantasy giant monster adventure film was directed by Harry O. Hoyt and starred Wallace Beery, Bessie Love, and Lewis Stone. The Lost World was an innovative film that featured the pioneering stop motion special effects by Willis O’Brien, becoming the first feature-length film to include model animation as the primary special effect. O’Brien would go on to use these special effects in the 1933 film King Kong. Lobby cards are generally prized based on the order they appear in the set - title cards being the most valuable.
