Sherlock Holmes Testamentet Detektivdrama i 3 akter… Stockholm: Skandinaviska Victorias Filmbyra, 1917. Lithographed one sheet for the Swedish release of the 1915 German film. 34 ¼ x 23". Mounted onto later board, toned, bumped (with creases) at margins in a few places, some dampstaining. A-/B. An incredibly rare poster, and one of the earliest Holmes movie posters offered.
And: Sherlock Holmes (La Valle del Terrore). Rome: P. Ragioni for Incei Film, 1965. Lithograph Italian one-panel (2 Fogli) poster with half of the face of Sherlock Holmes at the right margin (Christopher Lee), in the center are footprints and blood spots. 55 x 39 ½". Linen backed. One vertical and three horizontal creases, some marginal tears and small chips, a few areas of restoration and inpainting (mainly at creases). This is the Italian version of Sherlock Holmes and the Deadly Necklace (1962).
And: Sherlock Holmesa Skvrnity Pas (“The Speckled Band"). [Czechoslovakia, 1931]. One sheet poster depicting Holmes, Grimesby Roylott, and three women. Blank upper portion of poster most likely meant to have a theatre location and time added later. 37 ¾ x 22 ½". Linen backed. A few internal creases, a few tears (several restored and in-painted), some faint edgewear.
And: El Triunfo de Sherlock Holmes (Murder at the Baskervilles). (“The Triumph of Sherlock Holmes"). Argentina: L. Springer y Cia for Monitor Pictures, [1935]. Argentinian lithograph one sheet depicting Arthur Wontner (as Holmes) and Lyn Harding (as Moriarty), Ian Fleming (as Watson) and other actors. 43 x 29 ½". Linen backed. Three horizontal creases, some light soiling at margins, a few marginal tears, a few internal areas of inpainting and restoration. Despite being subtitled Murder at the Baskervilles, this movie is based upon The Valley of Fear.
And: A group of 4 rare Swedish language posters, including: Sherlock Holmes Återkomst. [Sweden: Paramount Studios, 1930]. Swedish black and white poster (a newspaper insert?) for the film, The Return of Sherlock Holmes (1929, directed by Basil Dean, starring Clive Brook as Holmes). 13 x 27 ½"; 330 x 698 mm. One vertical and three horizontal creases. Some toning, some wear at creases. An attractive example of this great rarity.

Marin, starring Reginald Owen as Holmes and Anna May Wong as Mrs. Pyke). 25 ½ x 13 ½"; 647 x 342 mm. Printed on pink paper, as issued. 2 horizontal creases, some rubbing, some faint marginal creasing.
Sherlock Holmes tar Nattexpressen. [Sweden: Universal Pictures, 1946]. Swedish black, white, and green poster for the film, Terror by Night. 25 ½ x 12"; 647 x 304 mm. Printed on thin glossy paper (verso is matte), few creases, some faint marginal creasing, some rubbing.
Sherlock Holmes. [Sweden: Fox Film, 1933]. Swedish black and white poster (a newspaper insert?). 25 ½ x 12"; 647 x 304 mm. Few horizontal creases, a bit toned, thumbsoiled, some edgewear, faint pencil notations on verso. This film was based on William Gillette's play, Sherlock Holmes (1899). All are rare examples.

Including: Original color poster for Der Mann der Sherlock Holmes war [Germany: Progress-film, 1954]. Original color poster for the 1954 rerelease of this 1937 film (directed by Karl Hartl, starring Hans Albers and Heinz Rühmann). 33 x 23 ½"; 838 x 596 mm. Few creases, some toning, edgewear, mild soiling, some small internal chips and tears (at creases), ink-stamp on verso.
On a Arrêté Sherlock Holmès. [Belgium: AFPA, ca. 1937]. Original color poster for the French-language version of the 1937 film, the Belgian issue. 16 x 11 ½"; 413 x 292 mm. 3 horizontal creases, toning, wear, soiling, a few short tears, a small area of the poster has the remnant of a postage stamp. On the verso is the remnant of a full-color larger poster, which may indicate that this poster was printed using recycled poster paper.

Original tinted poster for the French-language version of the 1937 film, the French issue. 31 x 12"; 787 x 304 mm. 1 horizontal crease, toned, some additional creasing, soiling, edgewear. This comedy-mystery features the leading actors posing and Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson bumbling their way through an investigation into the theft and forgery of rare stamps.
